Home > News > Zytronic named ‘leading example of manufacturing’ by UK Member of Parliament (MP)
David Anderson MP has nominated Zytronic, designer and manufacturer of award-winning touch sensor technologies, as a successful example of manufacturing from his Blaydon constituency to take part in the government’s ‘Made by Britain 2012’ initiative. The nationwide project being run by the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group (APMG) showcases leading British manufacturing excellence and encourages the exchange of knowledge and understanding between Parliament and the UK’s manufacturing industries.
All 650 UK MP’s were asked by the association to nominate a world class manufacturing business from their home constituency to draw up a diverse and comprehensive picture of Britain’s manufacturing industry. Nominees may carry the logo ‘Made by Britain’ proudly abroad, take part in an exhibition to showcase their technology later this year and further collaborate with the Department for Business and the UKTI (United Kingdom Trade & Investment).
Mr Anderson said, “Zytronic are literally leading the world in the development and production of industrial use touch screen products. Their flexibility, innovation and expertise has been reflected in their ever improving productivity and their physical expansion on their site. They are a credit to my constituency and I am delighted to see them export worldwide under the Made by Britain logo.”
Zytronic designs and manufactures a range of technologies that optimise the performance of electronic display applications. The company’s principle products include award-winning touch sensor technologies, optical filters for enhanced performance and protection, and special filters to minimise electromagnetic emissions. The company has its headquarters and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Blaydon, Tyne & Wear in the UK.
