Zytronic Announces Japanese Expansion

Zytronic announced a significant expansion in Japan, increasing its team to support customers, as well as appointing two new sales channel partners in the country.

Zytronic has appointed Mr Masami Saito to the new position of business development manager, Zytronic Japan, reporting to Ian Crosby, global sales and marketing director. Sarah Larter has also been appointed as UK-based internal sales and customer service assistant to support its customers and partners in the Asia Pacific region. Furthermore, two new distributors have been appointed in Japan: KTL Corp. and Takachiho Koheki Co. Ltd.

Commenting, Ian Crosby said, “We have already enjoyed successful customer relationships in Japan for several years, and our high performance, custom designed touch sensors have been well-received in a variety of self-service applications, one of the highest profile of which were the Acure vending machines deployed in JR East railway stations around Tokyo. We see considerable future opportunities in vending, financial, leisure and industrial sectors. I am convinced that we now have the dynamic team necessary to take the business in Japan forward, and work with new customers to create interactive solutions that exceed expectations.”

Saito-san is based in central Tokyo, working out of the offices of Business Link Japan – Zytronic’s long term, strategic partner in the region. He added, “I am excited at the opportunity to work with a leader in touch technology that is recognised globally for its outstanding quality, proven performance and great technical support. Zytronic has a unique product in the touchscreen market, offering a high degree of design and volume flexibility to meet individual customer needs at all stages of their product lifecycle. The touch sensors are renowned for their ability to operate reliably in the most demanding environments.”

Saito-san added, “The appointment of KTL and Takachiho as new sales channel partners in Japan will help us better serve our Japanese customers, and especially increase our success in the industrial market.”

Both companies have extensive networks of sales offices nationally -Takachiho has 60 years’ experience in bringing the best Western technologies to the Japanese market and offers Zytronic a detailed knowledge of the country and access to potential customers. In addition, KTL has strong relationships with internationally known technology companies like Texas Instruments and Molex.

Saito-san brings to Zytronic the benefit of over 30 years’ experience in the sales and marketing of embedded electronic components in the Japanese market. His experience includes several years with STMicroelectronics. He is supported by Sarah Larter who is based at Zytronic headquarters and manufacturing facility in Newcastle, England. Sarah has over 15 years’ customer service experience in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and will ensure that customer queries and requirements are processed efficiently and reliably.
